“Green Eyes” by David Natale
Constantly running
Zoom zoom, at the speed of light
Reaching other planets, other galaxies
Before I even have the choice
To embrace
Or to let go
Never allowing roots to grow
But Isn’t that a good thing?
Keep the dark from growing?
But if there’s no dark, there’s no light
And what a meaningless life to live
Seeing nothing at all
Balance is the glue of my universe
But I have no balance at all
So into the depths of the unknown I go
Bang Bang, poof, gone.
Somehow back
to the beginning of nothingness
Rebirth of my universe
First things first, slow it down.
